As part of our effort in improving customer experience when using our HSphere hosting control panel, and to increase the functionality of the hosting control panel, we will be upgrading the software version on 25th April 2007. Below are the details of the upgrade.

Upgrading Window Period : 23:00 hrs - 06:00 hrs SGT (GMT +0800)
Customer Impact : Intermittent access to all Clustered Shared Hosting Services (Gold, Silver & Bronze plans)

Details :
The upgrade process updates various software versions and configurations on all the servers at different intervals, so customers will experience intermittent access to mail, web, ftp, and control panel services at certain times during the upgrade period.

As this upgrade process is all on the backend, there will be no action required from our customers. However, we would advise against any intensive activities such as mass mailing, website overhauling, etc, during the upgrade process.

19th July 2005 (Tue) - Service upgrade news
We have completed the multiple upgrades to our multiple data centers network over the past few weeks. This upgrade strengthens our network with better Anti-Virus & Anti-Spam email scanning. Apart from that, we have also replaced our Webmail application with a new and better one.

Details as follows:

1. Anti-Spam System

All email accounts will be protected by our anti-spam system from now on. Emails will be scanned for spam by our email gateways prior to reaching your inbox. For emails being identified as spam by the system, it will be marked as *****SPAM***** in both the subject line and mail header.

Emails (marked as spam) will be stored in the spam folder in your webmail account and will automatically be deleted after 30 days. As these emails are considered spam and is stored in a different folder, your email client (such as Outlook) will will not download these emails to your computer. You may choose to check these emails once in a while using your webmail.

The spam setting at webmail will allow you to change the behavior of the spam filter. You will be able to block particular email address or domain name from reaching your inbox. You may also adjust the sensitivity of the email filter to better suit your personal requirement. In addition, you will be able to choose the location where these SPAM will be stored.

2. Webmail Interface Upgrade

With our improved webmail client software, you will be able to send and view your email in both plain text and HTML format. HTML format will allows you to create email with greater variety and more attractive layout.

You can also change your password more easily with the change password option provided in the side menu bar after you have logged into your webmail account.

In the new webmail interface, you may use the “Advance Setting” feature to setup Auto-responder, Email Redirection and even login directly to the Control Panel for other advanced setting for your email account.

3. Email Network Upgrade

We have enhanced our network with multiple incoming email gateways that comes with both Anti-virus and Anti-spam features. This upgrade included the use of multiple dedicated servers to handle email services. Thus, the new network will provide both load balancing and greater redundancy for your email services. This will greatly improve the efficiency and capability of email handling.

For current customer with domain name’s DNS hosted with Skydio, you can enjoy the above benefit without making any modification. Our engineers have already updated the necessary changes on your behalf and there was no disruption to your service. For domains that are not registered with Skydio and Skydio does not host the DNS, you can change the MX records of your domain name by informing your domain name DNS administrator to enjoy the same benefits:

- yourdomain.com MX 10 mx.networkmx.com
- yourdomain.com MX 50 mxsec.networkmx.com

4. Standardization of DNS Server

We have upgraded our network with multiple data centers network. Our DNS system was also enhanced to handle greater domain requests. Our DNS servers are now located at different data centers to provide greater redundancy. This will allow a centralized control of all domain names for Skydio, partners, resellers and customers.

And for existing hosting customers, you are not required to perform any changes on your domain settings.

This upgrade will also allow our resellers and partners to have a more standardize DNS record while keeping the identity anonymous. For resellers and partners, you can register your domain name with the following Name Servers information:

- ns1.networknoc.com (IP: 202.79.202.130)
- ns2.networknoc.com (IP: 202.94.100.34)

5. Multiple Data Centers Network

Skydio now housed in 2 of the most advanced data center in Singapore and Asia Pacific, MCI WorldCom and Equinix. To IT professionals, these 2 names would not be new. Both data centers provide Telco class facilities to host servers and network equipments for Banks, International Corporations, etc. They are amount the top data center facilities in Singapore and Asia Pacific. With our network in both data centers, Skydio will be able to provide load balancing and greater redundancy for our services.
